PROFILE
Born in Tokyo in 1983, she lived for six years as a child in Indonesia. In 2014, she received her Ph.D. (Arts) from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts. She is interested in the story behind her objects and focuses on the symbolism of lacquer. She mainly creates works that capture the techniques and designs found in the "decoration" of lacquer art from the perspective of "decorative acts" and "reading materials." Her recent exhibitions include "Sapporo International Art Festival 2020" (2020) and "DISPLAY" (MITSUKOSHI CONTEMPORARY GALLERY, 2020). She has received the 2015 Kyoto City New Artist Award.
