PROFILE

He was born in Nagoya in 1960. After graduating from Musashino Art University, he moved to Germany in 1987. He began presenting works at outdoor sets in Europe in 1997.
He is known for his bold and adventurous projects that involve people in public spaces, like building a room by incorporating outdoor monuments and streetlights and opening
it as a living room, or actually operating it as a hotel. He is currently living in both Tokyo and Berlin. His major works include a hotel project "The Merlion Hotel" (2011) at
Merlion in Singapore, project "Discovering Columbus" (2012) utilizing the monuments of Columbus in Manhattan, NY, and installation "So I only want to love yours" in the
Hermitage Museum in Russia. In Japan, the "Fun House" exhibition at the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art (2006), "Heavenly Shelley" at Ginza Hermes (2006), "Aichi
Triennale" (2010), 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo, "To that extent." Magnificent Project Exhibition (2017), "Tatsu Nishino in Beppu" (2017), and more.
